Instructor Guide: Creating BigBlueButton Sessions
Advanced Course Management for NM-AIST Lecturers
Step 1: Preparation
Turn on Edit mode at the top right of your course page. Click Add an activity or resource in the desired section.
Step 2: Select Activity
Choose BigBlueButton. Set Instance Type to "Room/Activity with recordings".
Step 3: Activity Room Settings
- Wait for Moderator: Students cannot start without you.
- Session can be recorded: Critical for QA audits.
- Schedule: Set "Join Open" and "Join Closed" times.
Step 4: Quality Assurance (NACTVET/TCU Compliance)
Scroll to Activity completion and configure as follows:
| Setting | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Completion tracking | Show activity as complete when conditions are met |
| Require View | Student must view this activity to complete it |
Instructor Pro-Tips:
- Always upload your presentation as a PDF for better performance.
- Remind students to use Google Chrome or Firefox.
- Click "Start Recording" manually once your lecture begins.
